What LED statuses can the fifthplay gateway display?

ColorState
Blue, blinking (0.5s - 0.5s) System booting or upgrading
Yellow, blinking (0.5s - 0.5s) System booted, no internet
Red, blinking (0.1s - 0.1s) System booted, internet ok, no connection to fifthplay

How long can it take before my internet connection works?

Depending on the infrastructure of your internet provider it can take up to one hour before the necessary changes are made (automatically) that will allow the fifthplay gateway to connect to the internet. During that time the LED will keep blinking yellow. In case your computer is connected to the LAN port of the fifthplay gateway you won't have internet access until the LED of the fifthplay gateway turns green.

How do I install my fifthplay gateway?

Please click here, an animated instruction movie about the installation of the fifthplay gateway in your home will display in a new window.

How do I connect a (new) camera with my gateway?

Wired camera (Axis 207(W),209,211)
1. Connect the wireless stick with the gateway on a free USB-port.
2. Connect the power of the gateway and if possible connect the internet to the WAN-port and wait for the LED to turn green or blinking yellow.
3. Connect a networkcable to the camera first.
4. Connect the networkcable to the LAN-port of the gateway.
5. Finally connect the power of the camera.
6. When the camera is recognized by the gateway, it will make a double beeping sound.
7. Your camera is connected, recognized by the gateway and can be used in your portal site if connected to the internet.

Wireless camera (Axis 207W)
1. When you use the camera for the first time or after a hardware reset (see also manual Axis), firstly connect the camera as a wired camera. (see also above)
2. After the gateway is completely started (green or blinking yellow LED), connect your camera with the power supply. If you camera was already connected to the gateway with a network cable, just disconnect the cable from both the gateway and camera.
3. The gateway will (again) make a double beeping sound when the camera is wirelessly connected.
4. Your camera is connected, recognized by the gateway and can be used in your portal site if connected to the internet.

Which devices can communicate with the fifthplay gateway?

Only fifthplay-certified devices are guaranteed to work together with the fifthplay gateway. Other devices might work, but are (currently) not supported.

At this moment the certified devices are:

  • Axis 207W
  • Axis 207
  • Axis 209
  • Axis 211

How far can I locate the wireless camera from the fifthplay gateway?

The covered wireless range is different in each situation and will be influenced by walls, used building materials, … but in general 25 meter should never be a problem. When the camera is out of reach, the camera-icon on the fifthplay portal will be greyed out. In that case you need to place the camera closer to the fifthplay Gateway.

What does "motion detect" do?

When motion detect is enabled the fifthplay gateway will compare each image from the camera with the previous one. If something has changed (i.e. motion has been detected) a notification will be sent using e-mail and/or SMS.

My camera is connected, but I can't see my live stream?

The live stream is always shown in a separate pop-up window. Be sure your browser allows pop-ups (check your pop-up blocker).
