fifthplay Health Monitor, currently in development, is a completely integrated internet-enabled remote personal health diagnostics solution which will increase the care provider and patient’s freedom, while helping to ensure a safe and monitored environment for people who want -or need- to regularly check vital health and wellness parameters.

With the fifthplay Health Monitor you will feel secure about your personal health and wellness at all times, without having to leave the house to see a doctor, or without having to wait at home for the nurse who will take these measurements for you.

fifthplay Health Monitor easily and cost effectively allows consumers and caregivers to install a health diagnostics solution in the home that fits individual needs. Wireless sensors, connected to the fifthplay Gateway monitor temperature, heart rate, blood pressure, blood sugar and weight when activated. These vital health parameters, including charts of past measurements, can then be reviewed on any web-enabled device. Appropriate alerts are triggered when attention is needed.

The sensor readings can also be transmitted to a health monitoring service organization, where appropriate action can be taken based on the received values. For example, a home-patient care provider could send a nurse to a patient’s home only when sensor readings exceed certain trigger levels.

In this way, fifthplay Health Monitor can decrease the cost of outpatient care significantly, and increase patient comfort levels. This solution will revolutionize the home diagnostics and care market through its remotely accessible, always-on monitoring system.

The system works best over a broadband internet connection, as the "always-on" nature of broadband internet makes instant access to sensor readings and alerts possible. Customers or service organizations can use any device with a web browser, such as a pc, pda or a multimedia mobile phone, to control sensors and settings via their secure customer account at the fifthplay Services Portal (my.fifthplay.com), and be able to remotely monitor activated sensor readings.

The product/service package includes compact wireless health sensors which link to the user’s personal computer, or to the service organization’s IT platform, through the fifthplay Gateway controller. The full functionality is provided through a single low-cost monthly service fee.

fifthplay is making the Health Monitor comfort service platform available to any market partner (if we make it available for market partners – it is not a comfort but will become an enhanced service) who wants to web-enable their customers for remote health diagnostics and control. Over time, many care and pharmaceutical partners will add enhanced service layers to this comfort services foundation.
